Socialitas

ASSISTANCE FOR PSYCHIC DISORDER AND TUTORING

Socialitas is a socially oriented organization that deals with assistance to disadvantaged people through support, tutoring, accompaniment, home care and support administration. Our home services are aimed at supporting individuals with mental distress, often accompanied by addictions and antisocial practices, and their families, who find themselves having to face situations that are difficult not only to experience but also to interpret and accept.

Socialitas' home care services are aimed at individuals with different types of psychological problems (such as psychiatric disorders, behavioral disorders, new addiction, bipolar disorders), often accompanied by addictions to substances such as alcohol, heroin or cocaine, patients with the so-called dual diagnosis, patients who cannot and should not be abandoned to themselves.

We aim to recover the quality of life of patients and families through a humane, bottom-up approach. We work with the patient rather than on the patient, because we believe in the humanity of every individual and on that we lay the foundations for the personal growth that we stimulate naturally, step by step.

Our mission is a significant reduction of discomfort and keeping the problematic subject as calm as possible, based on the recovery of his relationship with the surrounding environment, and on his improved availability towards social relationships. We reconstruct in an assisted manner the necessary network of links between the individual and the environment, improving mood, attitude and behavior. Let's reconstruct his daily life.

OUR DISCOMFORT ASSISTANCE SERVICES

Our distress assistance services benefit from experiences acquired by professionals who have long been operating in services dedicated to the rehabilitation of adults and minors, with psychological problems of different types and entities (psychiatric disorders, addictions, new addictions, behavioral disorders).
The Socialitas service, which is part of the home services to support the individual in difficulty and his family, intends to provide adequate support aimed at promoting the quality of life through a personalized plan, operating simultaneously both on the response front overall to the need, and to the development of the potential of the individual himself.
We don't work in lab coats: we go out into the field and roll up our sleeves.
We offer services of therapeutic activities, accompaniment, home care, family support, orientation towards the most suitable therapeutic path, support administration, maintenance of the problematic subject in the family, home nursing therapies, assistance and accompaniment of public figures.

OUR MISSION

The hardship assistance service offered by Socialitas aims to implement interventions that enhance the positivity of which every human being is bearer, which stimulate personal work of construction and growth, and which activate valid relationships with significant figures.
Our mission is based on the assumption that every intervention must be modeled on the person as a unique and unrepeatable human being.
We promote mental health and improve well-being and functionality. of the individual, highlighting their strengths and resources, strengthening their resistance and stimulating external protective factors.
We believe that psychological distress, even serious, represents the expression of a personality in crisis, who should not be denied the right to be a person to be helped and supported in his needs. Mental illness is a more or less modifiable condition but which must not become a prejudice.
Our goal is to reduce the patient's psychological distress, to recover his relationships with the social context, and to help him build a better and more functional relationship with others.
The weapons we have at our disposal to achieve it are professionalism, experience, patience and empathy.
The means are represented by the implementation of concrete services aimed at the individual case, such as home care and companion services, support services (aimed at both the patient and his family), tutoring and administration services of support.

A TEAM WORK

In a service involved in the treatment of mental pathologies, the team of operators takes on fundamental importance, as it is responsible for offering coherent and timely responses to individuals who are often divided, fragmented, multi-problematic or, in any case, in crisis situations. The methodology is supported by an integrated and multidisciplinary intervention model, which sees the specific skills and different professionalisms that characterize the team members come together in the result of the proposed intervention.
Our team is made up of a psychiatrist, two psychologists, a coordinator, a professional nurse and four social workers, a network of skills trained in the field, in contact with and supporting individuals with mental and social distress, and their families.

Psychiatrist: Dr. Sandro D'Amico, doctor-surgeon in Rome, specialist in psychiatry, toxicologist, alcoholic, has been dealing with problems related to the use/abuse of psychotropic substances for many years.
In addition to the more canonical therapies, both medical and psychological, over the course of his career, he has structured an original intervention method based on a pragmatic approach which sees the integration of multiple diagnostic and therapeutic tools, such as self-help groups help, individualized assistance with the help of educators and basic operators.

Coordinator: Rocco Orsini, a qualified social worker with experience in various institutional structures, has collaborated with doctors and psychiatrists in the field of home care for drug addicts and dual diagnosis patients.
Rocco has experienced first-hand the addiction problems that he now studies and fights.
He collaborated with the Villa Maraini Foundation, in Alternative to Detention Center program, he played the role of social worker at the Semi-residential Therapeutic Community, at the Termini and Tor Bellamonaca street units, and at the Low Threshold Night Centre.
Today, in addition to the individual cases he follows, he collaborates with the Drug Emergency Service and is a Rescue Volunteer (VdS) at the Italian Red Cross.
